The top and the bottom of this dress are both really beautiful -- there's a lot of gorgeous, careful workmanship in there. My question is, do they belong together, or should they each have gotten to be their own dress? The jewelled collar having some red in it was a smart way to try and associate them. But every time I left this dress and then came back to it, my brain kept thinking the top was chambray, and it totally is not.

You can see the texture a bit better here. The thing is, each part WOULD make a great dress on its own. But I think putting them together was an equally cool choice. And I think this ratio works better than the opposite -- like, if there were a bizarro version of this dress where the top was the red and the bottom was the blue, I think it would not look as good as this version.

This is a very blah Gucci, though. I wish you could see it as well here as you can on her own Instagram. I think the suit proportions would be weirder if she buttoned the jacket, but the tube top is still such an underwhelming choice.

Okay, here she's in NYC promoting the marriage show again, in ... coveralls and heels? Sure. Maybe it's a metaphor for doing the work. I think... a different shoe, even though I appreciate wanting to fancy this up a little. The bubblegum shade doesn't play well off the lighter pink, I don't think? Also, whew, those are some toe-breakers.

Don't mind Oscar, he's just checking to see if she smells like bubblegum too, or if it's more of a Strawberry Shortcake situation.
