One of my notes on A Star Is Born -- and I don't consider this a spoiler -- is that I can't figure out why Ally WANTED the creative direction she goes in, which seems ill-suited to her character (even if she didn't, she never complains about it). THIS is what I feel like that movie should've looked like: a country singer trying to smile through the slow, uncomfortable realization that she's now being dressed like a cheesy exotic bird.

This is like the tamer older sister to that dress -- the Meg March to Maren's Jo, except that I would hate for ANY March to be considered the embodiment of that dress. Even Young Amy.

Yup, seems about right. Although usually the designers she wears are strangely obscure; Shoji is more mainstream than she usually gets. That's at least a step in a better direction.

Sometimes I think this is pleasant, and sometimes I think it looks like she's bleeding from the nipples. It's like a horror movie in which Cupid actually murders people with his arrow. Has that happened yet?

Love those stripes, but WOW, the proportions of this are Wonkus Supreme.

As usual, I love her hair. I also really like this dress on her. She went through a long phase of formal shorts and I'm pleased to see her a) back, and b) breaking the habit.
