For some reason, yesterday I saw all these headlines that were like, "MERMAIDS ARE SO HOT RIGHT NOW," which reminds me of a conversation I had with a friend a couple of years ago, about how everyone was waiting to see what the next vampire was, in terms of supernatural love interest trends in books, and she pointed out that it can't be mermaids, "because it's too hard to figure out where their junk is." It's true that when I'm reading a book, I don't want to worry too hard about the actual logistics of how the protagonists are going to be able to bang. But all that aside, this entire look makes me think that maybe mermaids ARE so hot right now.

I'm moderately worried about the sheerness of those panels, but I like seeing her in something so va-va-voom and slightly evil. Kristen Bell is actually GREAT at slightly evil -- on *Parks and Rec* alone - and I wish she'd get a gig where she got to fully bitch out all the time.

This is the one where I'm pretty sure she put a spell of endless sleep on Elle Fanning. (That's a compliment.)

You know what I'm going to say about this thing. You do. You know it. EITHER BEAD THE WHOLE THING OR MAKE IT A MINI. CHOSE YOUR CHOICE.

[CMTs Mostly Well Played: Kristen BellI have no idea why Kristen Bell is hosting the CMT Awards, although I know she's done it before, so it's firmly in her wheelhouse at this point. I didn't watch it -- if I have to watch one more country music awards show this year, I will burst into flames, which is a sentiment that I think country musicians agreed with, as the turn-out for this thing was quite Zzzzz -- but I feel confident that she would be a competent and likeable host, if a rather random choice. She also managed to turn herself out pretty well, although I got the impression that she might have watched Maleficent three times in a row before picking all of these out.
