This was at the "Kanye West and Creative Artist Agency Foundation launch of the Kanye West Foundation for music education in the schools," and it makes me sad. First of all, Common does not look great here. But more than anything else: Oh, man, poor Kanye. He hasn't looked this genuinely happy since his mom here died. It makes me sad for him.

This was in January of 2007, so nearly ten years ago exactly. Common looks the same, and Ben has aged about sixty five years over the last decade. This, however, was ABSOLUTELY Peak Smarm for him, and it's for the best that we're all past THAT.

I have to note that I appreciate Common for switching up the way he poses on the red carpet. He almost always does something with his hands, and it makes his photos feel more present and warmer than your usual Dude In A Suit.
