Informative Caption tells us that this event at the Canadian Embassy "will showcase and celebrate the diverse community of young Canadians living in London and around the UK." Yay, Canada! I really like this coat on Meghan A LOT. It's very old fashioned -- it reminds me of some of my grandmother's coats from the 1940s. That is not a complaint! I love a vintage coat.

I actually really like this entire look. It fits so nicely, and it looks both warm AND fancy. (I have no idea what the rest of the dress looks like, but in my imagination, it's a square neckline and then elbow-length sleeves.)

Here, I think my verdict is: I love all of it except the hat, and I really like the hat CONCEPTUALLY (as I enjoy a pillbox hat a lot) but Meghan has a small face (NOT A CRITICISM) and I think this specific pillbox maybe overwhelms her head a little bit? But: I am delighted by her Trying New Hat Things. AND ALSO am delighted by the Forest Green Accessories happening here.

Although! I really like the hat from the side view; her updo works with it really well this way. Maybe just sort of sidle along sideways all day! This is also a good shot of the texture of the coat, which I also really love. Overall, Victoria Beckham is a really good fit for Meghan; when we covered the show from which this dress hails, I literally said that I suspected Meghan would be really into it and I am, as always, DELIGHTED to be correct. (Can Posh be Meghan's unofficial stylist? Because I think she might be good at it.)

This photo made me laugh. I decided that Meghan and this Religious Personage surreptitiously text about The Bachelor and this is their private moment to acknowledge that they're very excited about tonight's finale. WILL COLTON ROAM THE BACKROADS OF PORTUGAL FOREVER ALONE?

Speaking of pillbox hats, if you follow my link in the intro page to the first time Kate wore this coat/dress/coatdress, she originally wore one with it. It's probably for the best that they didn't BOTH wear a pillbox. I still really like this, but AS EVER, I am not sure I think the shoes/bag are right? On one hand, so grateful they're not beige, and the cut of the shoe is really pretty. On the other, is grey correct? Maybe? Navy might have been too harsh, and gold obviously would have been too costume-y. I might have gone for a more cognac color? LET'S DISCUSS. (Also, I think the buttons ARE technically sort of a grey? They photograph more as a metallic, though.)

It also looks purple to me here, but maybe CAMILLA HERSELF cannot tell the difference between purple and blue. Anyway, as they Ceremonially Recess, here's Informative Caption: "Commonwealth Day has a special significance this year, as 2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the modern Commonwealth - a global network of 53 countries and almost 2.4 billion people, a third of the world's population, of whom 60 percent are under 30 years old."
