This is a great example of how pretty words can set expectations that the image itself doesn't meet. In the quote I posted, this was cited as an example of how embroidery can construct a silhouette, and I get that, I do, but when I look at it with my actual eyes, I'm like, "Okay, it's a baggy leotard with hairy tights." When you look closer you can see the workmanship, but if this is what it looks like from far away, who's going to get that close?

This is sort of neat, though, and I'm curious if anyone will try to line it, or stick a bra under it, or what. It looks quite good as is. I was going to suggest it for Charlize but she prefers something leggy.

This looks a bit better than the first one; truly, it's the pelvic part that seems off. The top is gorgeous and so is the work, and I'd love to see a stylist commission that one OR this one as a full dress.

See? Hairy tights.

This is very chic. Maybe Maggie Gyllenhaal can wear it to a lower-key award show, like the DGAs.

Kirsten Dunst?

This is such a naked pile of nothing, though.

Claire Foy.

Kirsten Dunst would look great in that, too. Maybe with some Old Hollywood waves and a red lip.

This model looks like Lorde, so... Lorde! Or what about... Naomie Harris.

Chastain.

Saoirse Ronan.

Rachel Zegler.

Okay, that's very pretty. I'm clearly in a Kirsten Dunst mood, but I can't say her again. How about Thomasin McKenzie.

Claire Danes.

Rooney Mara. It'd be a bit more interesting than her usual.

Gorgeous. It needs special shoes, though. Those ballet flats aren't it.

Anne Hathaway.

Kristin Scott-Thomas.

Caitriona Balfe.

Another one for Zegler.

I love that they're turning this into an exhibit! I wish it were on for more than six days.
