I mean, I find aspects of this to be sincerely lovely -- the top isn't going to be an easy red-carpet sell, so tweaks would have to be made, but that skirt is tremendous, even if it is a mullet. I would love to see it on, say, Kerry Washington.

And then this girl is all, "Helena Bonham Carter just smote me for raiding her nightie drawer."
This is interesting. I could see a Kirsten Dunst in this, maybe.

There is something deliciously Jane Austen about this. I'm feeling Keira Knightley, although I would accept someone really young but maturing, like Shailene Woodley. HA, I almost typed Shenae Woodley by mistake, and the idea of Shenae Grimes in this just gave me the giggles. Not because I am making fun of her, but because I am ENCHANTED with the idea that Karl Lagerfeld is a closet fan of either Degrassi or the 90210 reboot. And he, like us, sits at home shaking his fist that they assassinated Jackie Taylor's character and then went ahead and ACTUALLY killed her for good measure.
Well, obviously, I want Jessica to wear this from now until the end of time. It could be her blogging caftan. Instead, let's just slap this entire thing on Gwyneth, top to tail, so we can read the ensuing GOOP about how to duplicate this at home for the low low price of four thousand dollars.

Come now, Karl, these are easy dares to someone like Diane Kruger. CHALLENGE these people.

Tee hee. Come on, SWINTON, you madcap marvel.
So cute, except of course for the weird-ass lace sockpants. I will probably cry with envy when Zoe Saldana wears that to Whole Foods or whatever.
Sweet Jesus. Stay away, everyone. Which probably means Jessica Biel will order three.

This needs someone both sufficiently groovy and Of A Certain Age. Like Glenn Close, perhaps.

You're up, Meryl.
This model's expression says, to me, "Is he f*&%ing kidding me with these Tin Man bootaloons?!?"
I'm getting a Michelle Dockery vibe. That neckline says Downton to me.

These necklines, for some reason, all say Alexa Chung.
I want Eva Green and Helena Bonham Carter to fight so hard for this entire ensemble, as-is.

And Katy Perry can bust this out at Coachella.
I know they're flowers, but I keep tricking myself into believing they're tiny little cartoon guitars.

How about a Fanning? Lord, Elle would probably wear these shoes. Don't tempt her, Karl.

Let's pretend Anne Hathaway will wear this to the Oscars, and when she wins, go up and make a crack about how it was half-dipped in gold because she had only won a Globe but now she can go home and melt down her statuette and gild the top half.
I am enthralled by that coat. I'm not sure how you strip that down for the red carpet... maybe you make a fitted top out of it and keep the skirt black and sequined. I don't know. But this is where Karl is getting into some gorgeous pattern work.

This feels like very sophisticated Jessica McClintock. Which is a compliment -- it's a very ladylike pattern that COULD feel dated, but doesn't somehow. I'm not sure I love how he worked it -- effective for the runway; less so for practicality. But there's a place for it and I hope someone tries it. I mean, compare this to that hideous flowered Valentino that SJP wore to the Met Ball one year. This would be an infinite improvement.

Another really nice floral that I would LOVE to see in another treatment that's a bit more... you know, flattering to any woman who has any landscaping to her at all. Ooh, or a pregnant lady. More people be pregnant, please.

I think Charo wears this to her portraiture class.
I ADORE this. It wants you, Emily Blunt. It wants you badly.

I almost itch to strip this down to just a white v-neck top, almost like a t-shirt, with that belt and skirt. Something very simple, very Sharon Stone Wears The Gap To The Oscars.
This is very... sweet. Chop out the bottom white bit, and possibly the top one, and Emma Stone could rock it on a press junket. Or somebody in Cannes. Or both. Actually, I'd love to see Mia Wasikowska try something this potentially cheerful.
That fabric is tremendous. FREE IT, KARL.

Oh, please, put J.Lo in this. PLEASE. She needs hirsute boobs.

Holy cats. Let's all fantasize about Kristen Stewart putting this on, unadjusted.

That's actually very pretty. Ummm... Marion Cotillard, in a staid phase? Hailee Steinfeld? I probably said her already. I also said Keira before, but this would fit her, too -- somebody very petite of bust, and long and lean.

This looks like Karl fell asleep while blissing out on the lobby decor at the Bellagio and woke up inspired.

You may think me crazy, because there is an actual color in it, but: Rooney Mara. Right?

Kim Kardashian's fourth outfit change at her small, understated Vegas wedding to Kanye West that only has fifty camera crews there.

Actually, this girl does make me think of Kourtney K. a little bit, like perhaps if she becomes a zombie and decides to marry and then eat that Disick dude who refuses to wear socks.

This screams Cannes afternoon photocall. Except for the leggings, which scream, "LOSE ME AT CUSTOMS."
Oh, come on, Sally Field. You know you want to.
