This is Portman or Cotillard, to me. It also looks like it's falling off her, and as if she's hatching and sprouting wings. It's COOL, but... why is everyone into this mesh-look now?
I mean, it's like a fancy gym bag.
This makes me think of that time Anne Hathaway was all SILENCE AND BOW TO YOUR QUEEN when promoting "Les Mis." With her wardrobe, I mean. Not with her attitude.
Don't miss the tiny, tiny reveal that it's a romper. Stay away, J.Lawr. I'm afraid you're impressionable.
Apparently knee braces are in right now. I can also see this on Cotillard. I can see everything on her, though. It's not always a good thing, but she is totally fearless about wearing the crazy stuff. She could perhaps use a little fear, but whatever -- at least the crazy stuff she chooses manages to feel more native to her than it does on other people.
Crotches are also in, apparently. AGAIN. ALWAYS.
That's a lovely, delicate idea.
This reminds me of Cate Blanchett's crazy crocheted tent dress. I don't know that we needed a more delicate version of that.
I guess this is the dark cloud version.
That's neat. I wish Jennifer Garner would wear something like that -- she's got the shoulders, she could work a red lip, the straight up-and-down of it all.
OH my GOD, no. WALK AWAY EVERYONE.
And then out comes a very pretty recovery gown. Which is what I call it when they send something batshit down the runway and people are like, "OHHHH PLEASE NO," and then "PHEW, okay, I can bliss out on THAT."
I am just ever so curious in what form these cutouts will appear on a red carpet. I'm looking at you, Cannes.
That just kinda hangs there. Blahly.
I sense a cape.
Meh. Rooney Mara?
This could be interesting on the right person. Angelina Jolie could bust that out on tour for "Maleficent."
This is fun to watch, but practically speaking -- and yes, I know this is couture, so no one is speaking practically -- it is CRAZY to make someone wear a heavy scarf in belt loops that are on her boobs.
Will anyone wear that volume as-is, or cinch it? We shall see.
Here is a more straightforward version.
What a wonderful present. Meaning: It's going to get returned.
Yeah, sure! Tape it to her leg! Why NOT.
Stab me.
I actually kind of like this conceptually. As a coat. I could see it on the red carpet hanging open over a tighter dress underneath.
I could see that on the red carpet giving me an aneurysm.
Hmm. That's sort of funny to me. You need to be, like, 16 to wear it, though.
I am not transported.
... maybe? For a movie in which there are a lot of really freaking fashionable label-whore fairies who have garden parties. It could happen.
It's awkward to wear something that looks like it's ACTIVELY falling off.
What to do with one's spent bubble wrap...
Very normal, and also like someone shot a bunch of spitballs at it.
Lined in the right ways, and I'm willing to consider this journey.
Underpants aplenty.
Another pretty idea that feels like it could adapt nicely to Cannes. Lengthen it and maybe Kidman would take a whack.
Whereas this is like, "Hey, Ellen Burstyn, we want your business."
This would be beautiful if it didn't have massive wings.
What darkness is happening to her chest?
Vagina be free!
I am concerned this dress is having a stroke.
