It's been a while since we've done one of these posts, and I'm always going to kick them off with kissing!

Look at wee bebe Marius in his tiny wedding suit! (He is now off at some unidentified college in the US and apparently has gotten in trouble for telling folks he is a prince, which he technically is not. Can you really blame the prince's step-son for telling people he's a prince too, when he's trying to hook up with them [I ASSUME]? [Or I suppose get out of a speeding ticket or whatnot.] It seems very much like something that a teenager would do.)

I think the simplicity of M-M's dress is extremely appealing, and her dress has accordingly aged very well. It reminds me of Meghan's dress in that sense (although of course there are differences).

A great way to keep me from complaining about the size of your bouquet is by carrying what the press called "a garland," and what I thought -- until I read that -- was a very long lei. I think it's really pretty, actually.

The Ring

This is the first time I've seen Mette-Marit's engagement ring. It's really pretty! (It belonged to Haakon's grandmother and then his mother; I guess M-M doesn't wear that often anymore. I'd sort of want it back if I were Sonja in that case but I am jewelry-petty. You'll get my rings WHEN I DIE.)

Crown Prince Haakon looks like a CHILD herein, though he was 28. He has aged like a fine wine. M-M's engagement suit is TRULY a festival of beige.

This is a TALL and very square cake! (You can also see how long her veil and train are; I didn't have any photos from inside the ceremony where you could get a good look at them. But the next photo is illuminating as well.)

"Everyone, PLEASE! The bride's train is in the front row of this photo, PLEASE respect this!" (The little bridesmaids look adorable here.)

Princess Madeleine Of Sweden

To the guests! As a gentle reminder, Princess Madeleine of Sweden was VERY MUCH a fan of spray tan during this period of history.

She looks even more than here! She might just be actually old-fashioned, real sunburned? Anyway, they all look moderately irritated.

I think Queen Silvia, in fact, wins the sartorial battle of the Swedish ladies. That AMAZING tiara really helps, but she also looks fab in that gown.

Princess Alexandra Berleburg

I was not familiar with Princess Alexandra Berleburg until writing this post; I fear her choker is too neck-brace-adjacent for my taste. She's a Danish cousin, if I've got my Wiki-reading straight, and she was married to one count here and is now married to a totally different count. Her purse might be whimsical?

Then Prince Felipe

Truly, all the Royal Men of Europe look slightly unformed at this time.

Eva Sannum

BUT DRAMA! This very dishy woman is apparently "the girlfriend of Prince Felipe." The internet tells me that at this point in their relationship, they were VERY close to getting engaged (hence her appearance as a date at a major royal wedding), but obviously they did not. She told Spanish Vanity Fair that she had a terrible time with the press and paparazzi: "Being hunted down and watched was extremely devastating for me. I had no privacy and I went absolutely insane." (It all ended up okay; she's married to someone else now.)

Prince Felipe of Spain and Sofia, Queen of Spain

This is one of my favorites of the Spanish tiaras, although we see it on Queen Letizia now.

Princess Laurentien Of Holland

This is a great cloak -- A LOT of wraps at this wedding, though it was in August -- and this whole looks feels like we could have seen it on Reign.

Crown Prince Frederik Of Denmark

I do NOT know who that is who seems to be trying to smell Crown Prince Frederik. (He and Crown Princess Mary were definitely dating at this point.)

Queen Margrethe of Denmark

VERY on brand for her.

Princess Martha Louise

She is a noted kooky dresser and this seems almost normal, except her little coat is from the costume department at Swan Lake.

Prince Albert and Chaz

These two appear to be discussing which pub they want to hit after the ceremony.

Maxima and Willem-Alexander

This was an unusually large British Royal Contingent.

Nor how much we loved a wrap. He's "an architect and a champion yachtsman" and they live on the Canary Islands now. Sounds great!
