WORDS. Although this is actually sort of perfect? She looks like a woman giving up her worldly goods AND her fashion to serve her Catholic imagination.

To me, this look says WELCOME TO THE REFORMATION. Why didn't anyone show up dressed like Thomas Cromwell? That look could have been subtitled: CATHOLIC IMAGINATION: THE REVENGE.

I'm surprised more people didn't wear D&G, because it feels like this whole line for YEARS has been waiting for this moment. She looks like a cross between her Game of Thrones character and an old painting. It's... fine, but honestly, I think it overwhelms her. I don't find that she has enough presence to hold her own.

I'm not wholly sure how this is on theme -- although I suppose gold does play a large part in Catholic iconography -- but I do know that she looks GREAT. This might be one of my favorite of her Met Gala looks ever?

I guess if I'm giving the thematic benefit of the doubt to Kerry, I also have to give it to Emily? Her dress has some unappealing naked parts, though, and she's working it ever so hard.

This is FANTASTIC, I think. And possibly D&G's most understated gown of the night, which is saying something.

This might be one of the best of the night, PERIOD. THAT COAT. It is the cape of our dreams. It's a plain suit underneath, which is just fine, because nothing else needs to exist.

I think this is pretty good, to be honest, although the headpieace is my least favorite part. She looks like a stylized lady warrior from the Middle Ages, like someone from a HIGHLY INACCURATE but gloriously costumed show on Starz.

We forgot to talk about her in the Louis Vuitton post, and this is....not bad? It's workmanlike. I also thought it was Ralph Lauren. Shrug!

Sure! Fine! Whatever! (A lot of people, I think, opted for "angelic" when pressed.)

I kind of appreciate how artistically WEIRD this is from the front. If you're going to be an angel, at least be an angel with something to say.

I ADORE Mindy, but I am not in love with this. I have certainly seen art wherein the subject of the painting is wearing an oversized crown, and I assume that's the reference here, but I'm not sure it looks totally right in real life?
