# Deadline's Contenders Event Revs the Oscars Engine

Every year, Deadline throws panels for the movies that are expected to be in the awards conversation, and Florence Pugh was in attendance not for *Don't Worry Darling*, but for *The Wonder*, the reviews for which seem to have washed the former right out of her hair. I'm not sure if I think the movie will break through, particularly, but anyone anxious to nominate Pugh now has another option from which to choose and she's supposedly fantastic in it. Also on the table here: *Wakanda Forever*, *Till*, *Nanny*, *Top Gun: Maverick*, *She Said*, *The Son*, *Causeway*, *The Good Nurse*, and *Blonde*. (Big ones missing: *The Woman King*, *Tar*, and *The Fablemans*, although that doesn't really mean anything. Purely anecdotal.)
