I never realized Emma Peel was so into both catsuits AND cutouts.

And then they DOUBLED DOWN on the cutouts.

Wow, they really did put her in some wacky sartorial contraptions.

I love her pulling this off with absolute chill.

I hope this is from an episode, and not just a magazine shoot. It's delightful to imagine an episode in which Emma was casually doing yoga on the beach in her lace onesie while Mr. Steed took a quick kip, when suddenly they were warned about a suspicious weather event.

This photo promoting the show is just superb, framing them as a two-headed beast.

She sincerely can pull off anything.

GET HER, EMMA.

GET HIM, EMMA.

"Do I REALLY have to do ALL the heavy lifting?"

IT WOULD SEEM SO.

"What, this little old thing? Child's play."

She looks very beautiful peeking out of all that nature.

This was a promotional shoot -- or, something from the set -- for On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Interestingly, both Diana and her predecessor on The Avengers, Honor Blackman, left to do James Bond flicks (Blackman is in Goldfinger).

My dad always said this is one of the best Bond movies, even though Lazenby is not the best Bond. I think he just felt like as a MOVIE, full stop, it was very good? I've still never seen it.

How many see-through lace onesies is she going to wear in one lifetime? Hopefully the answer is two.

"What? Doesn't EVERYONE have an erotic rocking horse?"

This is an Agatha Christie movie, "Evil Under The Sun," which I totally watched as a kid. I was a sucker for all those Peter Ustinov Poirot adaptations, even though I think for most people he was too broad and David Suchet is the king. Much like with Bond, I think your first Poirot is often your favorite? I don't know. Anyway, Diana played, yes, a haughty villainess in this -- if my memory is correct, she's the one who gets murdered, and no, I don't remember who did it -- but she looks AMAZING throughout.

I MEAN.

AND THEN.

AND THERE IS MORE.

Murder is a crime, yes, but doubly so when it deprives us of these costumes.

And here is the divine Lady Holiday with the divine Miss Piggy. I would have watched a 13-episode miniseries about their office dynamic.

"MY JEWELSSSSSS!"

It pains me that I don't have this entire outfit, but just treat yourself and revisit the movie and ALL WILL BE REVEALED IN THE FULLNESS OF TIME. I wish all fashion shows today could be narrated by her the way she does the one in that movie.

Sincerely, she and Charles Grodin are so brilliant in this movie. I honestly think he was deprived of an award for it. He COMMITS. (Related: "You can't even SING! You had to be DUBBED" is one of my favorite Miss Piggy insults.)

This is Diana as Regan to Laurence Olivier's King Lear. This was 1983, I believe?

Tim Curry, you too are a goddamn treasure.

She looks like Diane Keaton with this haircut.

And of course, this is how many modern audiences know her, and was the headline of many an obituary: her role on Game of Thrones. But really it was just the capper on a massive theatrical career of which I am not even scratching the surface. Rest in peace, Emma Peel. You fought the good fight.
