It's not that I think Maria Grazia Chiuri is sitting around thinking about how to tie her couture work in to *The New Look,* which premieres in a week or so on Apple TV. But there's no way Dior as a business isn't aware it's coming, and when -- witness its stars together in the front row -- and so maybe it's NOT a coincidence that this collection purports to revisit and reimagine [the La Cigale dress from the 50s](https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/82467?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), an influential piece of work from the house's storied archive. This is not a flashy Dior collection, but it is *solid*, and that's not a complaint.
