Opes here is in Wrinkle. She looks pretty good here -- the BRACELETS -- but something is just a notch off, right? Like, the glasses aren't quite a match, and her shirt is askew a bit... it's like a solid B, but it could've been higher.

Storm Reid and Ava DuVernay

Ava looks fantastic, as usual. I'm so looking forward to seeing the visual style of this movie play out. I'm also so TIRED of feeling like every woman-helmed movie is carrying the weight of our entire gender on its back. Nobody gives a shit if a movie directed by a man tanks; there's no sense that it will imperil every other man-fronted project. And yet here, every director who happens to be female is first and formeost A Female Director, and as soon as one big project flops -- which is inevitable; flops happen ALL THE TIME -- there will be lots of think pieces about how the chances will all dry up. Grr.

Also, Storm is the star, and by all accounts she was preternaturally poised at this thing.

Reese Witherspoon

Reese is ALSO in it, and other than wishing she had on red shoes, I'm on board.

Emily Blunt in Dolce & Gabbana

Emily was there for Mary Poppins Returns, looking fantastic.

Mindy Kaling

And Mindy looks very pretty indeed, although I wish that wasn't bunching under her chest. I hate seeing stuff like that because once you're IN the dress you probably have no idea it's doing that until you see the pictures later.

Kristen Bell

Oh, man. I don't think this being two pieces adds ANYTHING. JUST MAKE IT ONE.

Sarah Silverman

Another totally meh shoe choice, but this really works on her. She often goes a bit twee; this is twee in a way where I TOTALLY get why she wanted to wear it, and I would have tried it on too.

Mandy Moore

And then I guess Mandy Moore decided to marry herself right then and there.

Karen is in the new Avengers movie, apparently. I love her dress, and I have a real soft spot for her, so here's hoping it's a great marriage.

Kelly Marie Tran

Kelly ALSO looks good. SO MANY PATTERNS. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE. I could not be more delighted.

Laura Dern

And, Laura Dern looks lovely in a dress that's not totally worthy of her.

Benjamin Bratt and Anthony Gonzalez

These two are in a flick called COCO that comes out in November. Benjamin Bratt is very soothing.

This reminded me that they're making an Incredibles sequel. I love her and I like this dress well enough but PUT ON A BRIGHT SHOE.

And Chris Pine continues to look like the next in a long line of a Chris Pine clones that have each struggled to find its own NEW sense of self. This one hosts Improv Night on the Lido Deck of a singles cruise, and takes most of his meals alone in his room in his underpants.

Those pants on her are INSANE but she sorta also works for me in this Casually Gorgeous Lady Pilot aesthetic.
