I wrote this entire slideshow once and my captions got eaten. SO. It's that kind of party. Anyhoo: She looks GLORIOUS. She apparently fell for the color first, and then she and OdlR decided on the Wedgewood details. The purse is also wonderful, and the hat evokes the shape of two that Meghan has worn -- the ones that are just essentially a big beret tilted to the side. Maybe this is a Doria/Meghan cranial comfort zone.

She looks DELIGHTED, and so beautiful. Doria has stayed far out of the public eye, so other than some idiot paparazzi, this is really her first experience with what Meghan will now face daily. How overwhelming that must have been for her, and how emotional to see THAT big an outpouring of love for her child.

Doria sat alone in the second row, opposite the Queen. I think that was for the cameras; the front row wasn't as visible, but where she was, Doria was in pretty much every shot of Harry looking at Meghan. Seeing her in the background was almost like a guardian angel in flesh, and it was poignant, because of how much she and Meghan mean to each other and how Doria standing alone has influenced Meghan's independent spirit. (I am sure they all talked at length about whether they should change the seating plan after Thomas had to bail, and that Doria was okay with this; I cannot imagine anyone strong-armed her into doing anything. But I did wish she had someone she could clutch at when she got weepy.)

It's okay, Doria. EVERYONE in the royal family falls into the tan shoe wormhole. It's almost like a hazing ritual at this point.

This was from the night before, and Jess may have noted this already somewhere, but I have never seen their family resemblance so clearly. They're glowing and it's so lovely.

I assume Carole Middleton is texting her to say, "Well done, you. Let's meet next week for a Pimm's Cup and complain about pantyhose."
