This coat feels very appropriate for a military event -- when she wore it last time, I joked that she has it filed under "Coats: Solemn Occasions," but really I think it might be under "Coats: Military Commemorations, Blue." I also want to know what they're talking about here, because it seems amusing. I assume everyone is sharing the dirtiest military rumors they've heard about Harry.

Do you think it was a coincidence that Kate wore a hat that looks as if you could -- in an emergency -- pour some onion dip into it, on today, The Holiest Day For Dip in all of the United States, despite not being an American?

I thought you might like a close-up of this pin, which I learned -- from People -- used to be given to the best female cadet. It's fabulous, and also I feel like that Best Female Cadet every year spent a lot of time worrying that she might lose it.

This is the slide where I realize I forgot to show you the coat in full. Sometimes I get distracted by Dip-Hats and Jewelry.

The woman next to Kate is Air Commodore Dawn McCafferty, who is the Commandant Air Cadets, which is, per My Best Friend Wikipedia, "the title given to the Royal Air Force officer who is responsible for running the Air Cadet Organisation, embracing the Air Training Corps (ATC) and the RAF Sections of the Combined Cadet Force (CCF RAF)." I wish Wiki meant "embracing" as in hugging. "Everyone! Line up for your hugs! Now, GO FLY SOME PLANES!"
In other interesting Wiki Wormholes, St Clement Danes, the church at which this event was held, was totally destroyed during the Blitz and rebuilt using funds raised by the RAF. (The organ was a gift from the US Air Force.) The history of the church is interesting...at least to me, because I am interested in every old building in the world, more or less.

I personally think EVERY slide show ought to end with a slightly out-of-focus commemorative cake. Let's make that a goal going forward in 2016.
