So, season 1 of Dynasty was rougher sledding. Blake was REALLY annoying. Krystle was kind of a simp. Fallon was a brat. Steven was in a relationship with a man named Ted Dinard, whom Blake fought with verbally and then in a scuffle Ted fell and hit his head and died. Blake went on trial for murder, and the season ended with the courtroom doors swinging open and Fallon gasping, "It's my MOTHER!" Season two opened with Alexis wearing this. On the stand. Yes, this WHOLE THING, sunglasses included. IT IS IMMACULATE.

Also, I wasn't kidding about the sunglasses. Brian Dennehy asks her several questions before she dramatically slides them off.

These other shots are a mish mash and I didn't put them chronologically. Just enjoy them at random. Look at her slaying the smoky eye and the rich pink lip.

Linda Evans was actually pretty good on this show -- Krystle was super boring when she was schmoopy with Blake, but when she got an adversary in Alexis, she got off some snide lines that I really appreciated. I don't know why Forsythe is grabbing her here like he's holding her hostage.

This, however, is very amusing.

So, John Forsythe was totally photoshopped into this, right? They may ALL have been, although Pamela Sue Martin does look believably like she's leaning around someone or toward someone. But the most egregious is Blake hanging out down there in the corner. IMDb lists him at 5'11"and I think that has to be bull -- he doesn't seem remotely that tall on TV and I am wondering if this was him being a diva about that?

This ALSO feels like a photoshopped bouquet of ladies.

See? Again, forced perspective to make him look towering. I'm gonna say 5'11" was a lie. (Note, I have no issue with ANY height. I'm coming at this from a Probably Overly Sensitive Hollywood Actor of the 1980s POV.)

Speaking of towering, JOAN'S HAIR. I hope she grew it longer and longer the more she disliked John Forsythe.

Look at that robust shrubbery!

For Halloween, i really must go as Joan Collins playing Alexis playing Krystle. I don't even remember if this happened in the show, or if Joan is just goofing off in the stunt double's wig. (Obviously Alexis could never convincingly be Krystle from the front, but the old soap construct of "someone spots her from behind in a compromising moment and decides it's Krystle and tells everyone she's faithless" is a beautiful soap trope indeed.)

I said I wouldn't show you the Moldavian Massacre, but obviously I am still going to provide Catherine Oxenberg in her wedding regalia.

Wait, how did Boring Kirby get in the front row, and several other major players are stuck in the back? Dex Dexter, I see you! The dude with the mustache on the top right ends up falling off Alexis's balcony to his death. One of the condos on Wilshire Blvd. near Westwood (in LA) was the exterior of Alexis's building, and every time I drove past it, I would remember poor Mark's ignominious end.

It's never too early to wish you ANOTHER happy holiday. Also, DANG, Claudia Blaisdel hung around a long time. She was THE WORST. Like, excruciating to watch, until she burned down La Mirage. What does it say about me that only tolerate her for her Hate Candles?

Not the same dress. Alexis therefore had TWO robust red gowns.

Set stills from the catfights are endlessly amusing to me.

Alexis looks like she's either going to shove a finger in Dominique's mouth, or that her entire offensive scheme here is to grab Dominique's shoulder.

If I am ever in the hospital, it is incumbent upon Jessica to make sure this is how I spend my convalescence, even/especially if I am in a coma.

This was significant: Rock Hudson had a romantic arc with Linda Evans that required him to kiss her, at a time when he privately knew he'd been diagnosed with AIDS. He didn't tell her and apparently just tried to... keep his saliva out of it? This was quite the scandal at the time, but Linda remained his friend to the end.

I assume she is not wearing anything under her fur. Or she is wrapped up in one of the rugs on the fire, on which she and Blake would get sexy.

The note on this photo says, "No book cover usage," and now I am bereft, knowing I cannot someday write a novel that bears this on its front.

Kate played Alexis's sister, Caress. Yes, Caress. I love that one child in that family was Alexis and the other was named after either an intimate gesture or a bar of soap.

John James (Jeff Colby) is giving me some real Armie Hammer vibes here. Well, Armie in The Social Network, not Armie in present gossip times. I just remembered that as I was typing this, and... eek.

I would never deny you Sammy Jo, although I wish I'd had shots of her microscopic shorts.

I think this is from pretty early on, as I believe Alexis arrived with longer hair. No one does the devious twinkle like Joan.

Alexis also had some of the best hattitude on TV, ever.

Krystle did NOT. WHO PUT HER IN THAT.

She could probably still wear that. SOMEONE could.

THOSE SLEEVES. I wonder if this family portrait is from when Adam and Original Fallon were still on the show, but Steven was in the process of getting recast.

You might recognize Jack Coleman, aka Steven II, from Heroes.

I hate to cross Alexis, but isn't her pocket kerchief perhaps a TAD high? It's practically coming out of her collarbone.
