(Photo by Savion Washington/Getty Images for AFI) I am not sure it was worth it to use a navy blue tie, when you can barely see it, and the color doesn't pop against all that black. The AFI statuette does more work. Which I guess is okay, but I think a peek of a brighter color could've been effective. ## Arsenio Hall ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2026/04/GettyImages-2272000181-1776637123.jpg) HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 18: Arsenio Hall attends the 51st AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute To Eddie Murphy at Dolby Theatre on April 18, 2026 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Savion Washington/Getty Images for AFI) This hit of blue is ALSO misguided. Why do people want blue and black together so badly when there are SO many other jazzier options. ## Colman Domingo and Jaafar Jackson ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2026/04/GettyImages-2271983514-1776637292.jpg) HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 18: (L-R) Colman Domingo and Jaafar Jackson attend the 51st AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute To Eddie Murphy at Dolby Theatre on April 18, 2026 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Michael Kovac/Getty Images for AFI) Colman's jacket is magnificent. Jaafar, who plays MJ in the forthcoming movie, also looks really nice and holds his own here, which is no small feat when Colman is Colman. But... yeah, the coat. Whew. ## Da'Vine Joy Randolph ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2026/04/GettyImages-2271984084-1776637220.jpg) HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 18: Da'Vine Joy Randolph attends the 51st AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute To Eddie Murphy at Dolby Theatre on April 18, 2026 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Michael Kovac/Getty Images for AFI) Love her; am TOTALLY uninspired by this color choice. Blandy Blanderson. ## Stevie Wonder ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2026/04/GettyImages-2272010471-1776637068.jpg) HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 18: Stevie Wonder attends the 51st AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute To Eddie Murphy at Dolby Theatre on April 18, 2026 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Savion Washington/Getty Images for AFI) YES STEVIE. Embrace those metallics. ## Jennifer Hudson ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2026/04/GettyImages-2271981881-1776637306.jpg) HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 18: Jennifer Hudson attends the 51st AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute To Eddie Murphy at Dolby Theatre on April 18, 2026 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Michael Kovac/Getty Images for AFI) That is a gorgeous necklace and a pretty dress that does not seem to fit her chest at all? The illusion netting seems especially clumsy. ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2026/04/GettyImages-2272000440-1776637082.jpg) HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 18: Jennifer Hudson attends the 51st AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute To Eddie Murphy at Dolby Theatre on April 18, 2026 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Savion Washington/Getty Images for AFI) She changed, presumably to perform or speak, and it's sexier. ## Robert Townsend ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2026/04/GettyImages-2272000300-1776637095.jpg) HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 18: Robert Townsend attends the 51st AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute To Eddie Murphy at Dolby Theatre on April 18, 2026 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Savion Washington/Getty Images for AFI) He directed *Eddie Murphy Raw*, but also, per Wikipedia, he also auditioned for *SNL* and lost the spot to Eddie. Trivia is fun. ## Kevin Hart ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2026/04/GettyImages-2272000413-1776637109.jpg) HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 18: Kevin Hart attends the 51st AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute To Eddie Murphy at Dolby Theatre on April 18, 2026 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Savion Washington/Getty Images for AFI) There is a lot of cockamamie stuff happening in this photo, but nothing more so than Spike's pant length. ## Martin Lawrence ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2026/04/GettyImages-2271998027-1776637136.jpg) HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 18: Martin Lawrence attends the 51st AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute To Eddie Murphy at Dolby Theatre on April 18, 2026 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Savion Washington/Getty Images for AFI) Ooh, I like the decorated lapels. ## Mike Myers ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2026/04/GettyImages-2271990417-1776637181.jpg) HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 18: Mike Myers attends the 51st AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute To Eddie Murphy at Dolby Theatre on April 18, 2026 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Michael Kovac/Getty Images for AFI) I like him with the shock of white hair. ## Mike Myers ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2026/04/GettyImages-2272000117-1776637152.jpg) HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 18: Mike Myers attends the 51st AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute To Eddie Murphy at Dolby Theatre on April 18, 2026 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Savion Washington/Getty Images for AFI) He is not so much a green fox, but admittedly it's hard to pull off Shrek even if you're Shrek. ## Amy Reinhold and Judge Reinhold ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2026/04/GettyImages-2271994494-1776637166.jpg) HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 18: (L-R) Amy Reinhold and Judge Reinhold attend the 51st AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute To Eddie Murphy at Dolby Theatre on April 18, 2026 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Savion Washington/Getty Images for AFI) I thought this was going to be blue and black, but it might be blue and blue. Regardless: I can't see Judge Reinhold without hearing him say "My name is Judge" from that Arrested Development episode (where he plays himself being a judge in a mock trial). ## Karen Pittman ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2026/04/GettyImages-2271994054-1776637194.jpg) HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 18: Karen Pittman attends the 51st AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute To Eddie Murphy at Dolby Theatre on April 18, 2026 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Michael Kovac/Getty Images for AFI) Blue and black is better when there's more blue and less black, I think? ## Tracy Morgan ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2026/04/GettyImages-2271983720-1776637248.jpg) HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 18: Tracy Morgan attends the 51st AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute To Eddie Murphy at Dolby Theatre on April 18, 2026 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Michael Kovac/Getty Images for AFI) I have a high tolerance for his hijinks, I really enjoy his new show, and I'm happy he's here. ## Nia Long ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2026/04/GettyImages-2271983617-1776637262.jpg) HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 18: Nia Long attends the 51st AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute To Eddie Murphy at Dolby Theatre on April 18, 2026 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Michael Kovac/Getty Images for AFI) This might be wearing her a little, but she's certainly trying to pump up the drama. ## Autumn Durald Arkapaw ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2026/04/GettyImages-2271982030-1776637278.jpg) HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 18: Autumn Durald Arkapaw attends the 51st AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute To Eddie Murphy at Dolby Theatre on April 18, 2026 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Michael Kovac/Getty Images for AFI) ... ONE glove, Eva? Is only one hand of The Widow Longoria observing mourning? ## David Alan Grier ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2026/04/GettyImages-2271981097-1776637332.jpg) HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 18: David Alan Grier attends the 51st AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute To Eddie Murphy at Dolby Theatre on April 18, 2026 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Michael Kovac/Getty Images for AFI) Intense, but what a delightful tie. ## Anna Oris ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2026/04/GettyImages-2271988454-1776637207.jpg) HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 18: Anna Oris attends the 51st AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute To Eddie Murphy at Dolby Theatre on April 18, 2026 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Michael Kovac/Getty Images for AFI) I am unclear what the connection is to Eddie Murphy, and thus why she is there, but I had to giving me my big finish, Anna! [Eddie Murphy Had a Great Turnout at his AFI TributeAs one would hope.![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/static-gofugyourself-com/uploads/2026/04/gettyimages-2272019839-1776639799.jpg)](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/eddie-murphy-had-a-great-turnout-at-his-afi-tribute-04-2026/)
