She definitely got the most high-concept (read: expensive) plan: They had her swinging in harnesses for her shoot. The result is that, in close-up, she looks like she's in a cocoon. It's imperious, and it's dramatic, and it's... artistic, I suppose, but for all the natural light in it, there's also a chilly quality. I would look twice at it on a newsstand just to try and decide if I like it, and I'd probably end up as unsure as I am now. I can't tell if it's *effectively* unusual, or just unusual. ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/10/ELM110121WIHLAngelinaJolie_023-logo-1634574703.jpg) I think this shoot works better when you get the wider looks, like this. I love that photo. Whether she's really that high up over that particular property, or they faked it, or what, it's really stunning and the grin on her face feels real. But, at least it's fun -- I'll say that. We get so many other shoots that are just standing and leaning. It's fresh-feeling to see an apparatus in play, and it gets a different energy out of her. ## Gal Gadot ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/10/ELM110121FOBCover_LO4-1634574532.jpg) For a cover with that much bold yellow, this feels so flat. She seems to be in a bodysuit and tights under that great coat? That's quite an achievement. She looks like EITHER her feet are in five-inch heels and she can't stand up without assistance anymore, OR like you just told her something SHOCKING and she had to collapse against the bar to process it and ask you all the follow-up questions. She looks great in the bathing suit. But look how busy this is. The room is busy, the pose is awkward, the outfit itself feels confusing. And I know I said I enjoyed seeing the apparatus in the Angie photos. But then we got a wind cannon, and now a tiny hand fan? It's not as whimsical as you think, pal, especially when it's again stealing some of the attention from your subject. His thumb plays a major role in this shot.
