# Elton John Looked Very Jaunty Upon This Day in 1987

Listen, frankly, this is exactly what I imagine Elton John wearing to a restaurant in Los Angeles in 1987 -- although perhaps in my imaginings, it had a bit more sparkle. He looks like he belongs to a very saucy yacht club/secret society. (Instead, he was allegedly going to a restaurant called Nicky Blair's, which from what I understand was a sort of OOC late 80s singles scene frequented by old rich dudes, young women, celebs, and mobsters, but which was also right next door to[ Le Dome, which was REALLY famous](https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1988-02-21-ca-43973-story.html?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), and which Elton co-owned. Was he checking out the neighbors? This outfit is not great if you're going undercover!)
