This backdrop was fun. Emma is lucky that her gold dress still popped against it, though. It's definitely a competitive backdrop.

Okay, the dress: I actually quite like it. This FEELS like something she would choose -- indeed, it is not an unfamiliar aesthetic for her, overall -- and it's classy and intricate. Matching your Oscar risks being a LITTLE cutesy, so the dress needs to have a bit of edge, and this does.

I will say that when I can't see the fringed bottom, I don't like it AS much. The straps are very thinly disguised bra apparata. Which is fine -- at least everything is being held up -- but also maybe not super imaginatively handled.
And, yes, that IS a Planned Parenthood pin on her chest.

I don't know if I like the cut of this, but I like the CONCEPT of it well enough. The pants are not uplifting me as much as the shirt is. In that sense I guess it's the opposite of her Oscars gown, where I like the bottom better. Keepin' me on my toes, Emma. Much appreciated.
