So, yes, I would absolutely love it if Emma Thompson hired a stylist who ratcheted things up several glam levels. Just for fun. But I also recognize that this is not what we necessarily NEED for -- or from -- Emma Thompson, who is delightful for a lot of reasons but high among them is that she dresses for practicality and comfort and doesn't have much use for the rest of it, and still has a marvelous time (I hope you heard that in Julie Andrews's voice from The Sound of Music, because I did).

I mean, is that jacket and shirt and pant combo the very best? No, but is she boogying in place so that the fringe will swish around? Damn skippy.

And do I believe someone just made a DELICIOUSLY bawdy joke here, and that it may have been Emma herself? Yes. Yes I do. I love this photo and I feel that Emma is the person who would frame it. THIS is her kind of piano picture.

But the snuggling is nice, too.

I mean. We should all delight in other people so much! Even when they are wearing strange turtlenecks, GREG.

I was also charmed by this pic from the presser of her hugging the little girl who plays Matilda. Now THAT is a piano picture for HER. And, shout out to Emma for those shoes. Comfort and style are not mutually exclusive.
