I find this a little... drab for what I ASSUME PERHAPS is the big finish to her tour. It's a little dour, although I appreciate that it's also not as silly as some of Christopher Kane's stuff is (the BotB stuff, from what I can tell, is... so-so at best). Some people were suggesting this is a big ol' middle finger to critics of her Vanity Fair shoot, which infamously featured some underboob. But I'm not so sure. This ALMOSt reads to me like she just chose a grown-up design she liked, and then added the netting at the last second AFTER the controversy, in the hopes of downplaying it enough that people wouldn't freak. I might argue the dress would look cleaner and cooler without it.

See? It's all wrinkly and strange. Maybe this dress will turn out to be part of the collection and was always conceived thusly, but to me that netting reads like second-guessing something.

The back is pretty. And it has a big flower on it, which is the motif Kane chose from the movie to bring throughout the clothes, so maybe this IS from that collection and we'll find out Thursday whether the netting is there too.

Informtive Caption tells me that Emma was at an event with The New York Film Society for Kids, talking all about how much she adores reading. I think, if she was going to pick a big ol' Belle-esque yellow gown, this was exactly the right event to do it. FOR THE CHILDREN, Y'ALL. Ring that Belle.
