I understand that nipple darts can be a fact of life. I do. The thing is, The Power of the Baranski is such that I don't even mind them here. She's just so great (and a double nominee! I wish she'd won, but she had some tough categories).

That skirt is GORGEOUS and she's pulling off what is a tremendously unusual -- and, on this day, sweltering -- pick. This is panache, I believe.

She had some trouble waking in this, but it looks great on her. Generally the sheer stuff that looks like a crotch butterfly would not enthrall me,; last night I thought, well, she's making it work and I applaud her for it. But in the light of day it may not even have been as flattering on her as I wanted it to be.

This looks good here, but on the telecast, it was a little tight. My mom looked at the bodice while JLD was accepting and went, "Oh, OUCH." I also wish she'd wear more color, as a general note.

A little bit dickey-like. A very PRETTY dickey, though.

She is so great, and I appreciate her paid enthusiasm for Trop 50 orange juice, but I can't sign off on a dress where in EVERY picture she somehow is required to stand as if she has blistering cramps.

Getty has no pictures of her on the red carpet, so she must have gone inside after doing whatever interviews were required of her. This is at the after-party, and she's still killing it. The pants beat Maslany's, and the hat beats all.

This is a much better Prada in the boob region than we've come to expect, and it's not terrible, but it's too... sweet... for her. It's Elle Fanning's dress, but got sent to the wrong E.F.

ALSO an Elle Fanning dress that's too precious for the wearer. I wish she'd put on this yellow Naeem.

It is just hard to get over how all-consuming the HAIR is on her. Maybe it suffered in the heat, and I'm sure the dye is for "American Crime," which I believe she's on again. But it is neither as polished nor as chic as she deserves.

First round's on Marcia!
