We did a thing for Cosmo where we matched clothes from the NYFW runways to stars attending the Emmys, and we picked a gold Siriano for Laura because we're so tired of her wearing black. I feel like this answers the spirit of that note pretty well, right? It's very bombshell on her. My main note is that it all rather strongly evokes Marchesa, but on the plus side, it's the GOOD era of Marchesa.

And, back to goth. Meh.

At first I really thought she'd nailed this. Then I saw the hem, which to me turns this into a nightgown. *shakes fist* STELLAAAAAA.

She is really lovely, and this dress is undeserving and underserving.

Lose the hefty nipple darts, and I'm in.

She's a fox, though. This is very cool on her.

It's so strange to see her without her red lipstick. I think she looks beautiful in this, though, and her backstory has been among my favorite on OITNB so HOORAY for good acting that's gone largely overlooked.

I love you, Red.

I want to tweak this a little -- maybe take out the partial mermaid hem (or is it more of a bustle style?), possibly lose the black panel because the pattern is cool enough without it... but I also jut appreciate that it's lively. (Also, hers was one of my OTHER favorite backstories, and her work on the show is ALSO too unsung, so consider this me belting out her tune.)

Whereas SHE usually looks kooky -- cheerfully so -- and ergo I think it's good that she toned it down.

That might've been better as a mini.

It's a bit Mother of the Bride, but hell, I'll take it.

Lovely. Also, am I crazy, or was she the person who played the parody of the "True Detective" bar singer when Andy Samberg introduced the band?

I like the idea here but the pants might be too tight.

There were a couple versions of a black keyhole dress at the Emmys, and I think this is the most sophisticated of them.

She's great, but damn, those nylons must have been sweaty.

This is an acid trip that's working surprisingly well.

Ah, Ye Olde Paper Shredder.

High five! Times two.
