When I thought this was just AURA of Sheer and not FULL-ON Sheer, I was totally in. Cut out and all. Here, this dress looks glamorous and interesting, and totally great.

And then she went all Lea Michele on us -- she posed like this basically all the way down the red carpet; as with the aforementioned Ms Michele, it pleases me -- and now I feel like I cannot in good conscience TOTALLY sign off on it, now that I know the truth of things. You guys, MUST EVERYTHING BE SHEER? IT'S GETTING SO BORING.

It's like she's saying, "Jessica. This is really sheer. Please consider the entirety of my look before passing judgement. I want to make sure you have the complete story. Namely that this is very sheer. Are you SURE you understand?" TARAJI. I KNOW.

And, dress aside -- which, it looks good here again -- we need to talk about the fact that this entire moment was basically The World Learning What a Weird Pain Terrance Howard Is, and I feel like Taraji's face, the whole time, was very very subtly saying, "you guys, I have to deal with this at work every day." All of which makes me (a) really excited for *Empire* to come back, and (b) hope someone is buying her a drink after work every now and then.

[Emmy Awards Mostly Well Played: Taraji P Henson in Alexander WangOkay. Real talk. I am not in love with the sheers bits on this dress -- NO DUH -- but my god, does SHE look great or what? Taraji P Henson: Overpowering questionable sartorial elements one great hair decision at a time. Oh, also, you need to see this gif of her reaction when Viola Davis won (beating her, in fact) last night: Save this GIF for the next time you're having a really bad day. #Emmys pic.twitter.com/XpVt3nGjDK — Vulture (@vulture) September 21, 2015 \[Photos: Getty\]![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/static-gofugyourself-com/uploads/2015/09/gettyimages-489366420.jpg)](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/emmy-awards-mostly-well-played-taraji-p-henson-in-alexander-wang-09-2015/)
