When this showed up on E!, Jessica and I simultaneously messaged each other, "WTF TRACEE YES," which encapsulates my attitude about it. We had just been lamenting that it was a red carpet without any batshittery, and then this walking duvet arrived, and we applauded. It's CRAZY. It's like a Scarlett O'Hara frock on HGH.

I'm glad she can lift her arm, but the real question is, can she get a glass of Champagne to her lips around that sucker? These things MUST be considered.

Joey King in Zac Posen

This is beautiful on her. Tulle is a tricky beast, but Zac worked it into something really special. Joey has been a working actress for a while, but shot to fame with Netflix's The Kissing Booth, which is... really terrible, frankly, but all hail the effort at a teen movie. Next up, getting her some material that's as rad as this gown. That's the kind of thing you will never, ever forget that you wore.

And certainly not when the designer himself is your train wrangler.

Thandie Newton in Brandon Maxwell

He just showed a collection rife with pink, so this tracks. I like it on her, though I did think that it was a shame it got a bit crinkled, and that it might be shoving her boobs around weirdly...

... but, boy, it looked stellar in the winners' circle, and so hang the rest.

Amy Sedaris

Amy was nominated for her TruTV show, At Home With Amy Sedaris, which is a humorous/parody homemaking show. And this DOES look like a humorous/parody homemade dress, so points for bring on-brand, Amy.

Meredith Salenger

That's quite good on her, and with a dash of sequins, to boot. 

Marin Hinkle in Oliver Tolentino

That color is magnificent on her. If we're nitpicking, maybe bigger earrings or a bigger bracelet (I think I see one slim one on her right wrist?). But a rich hue and the right head-styling can really carry the day. The lip is perfect: rich but not match-y.

Samantha Bee

Well. It looked purple in the blue slideshow, and now it looks bluish in the purple section. But I saw some other photos and it DID seem to trend toward royal purple, so that's what I'm sticking with, FINAL ANSWER, mic drop. She looks super, I must say.

Betty Gilpin in Vera Wang

Can't say I'm a particular fan of this. It looked better on E than in this photo, but sadly the photo is what lasts forever. Also, Vera Wang was just never going to do a simple pinky-coral dress with cutouts as well as Calvin Klein did it for a blond Emma Stone.

Yara Shahidi in Gucci

That's one of my favorite Guccis in a while -- it's very theatrical still, with a tinge of Old Hollywood, but it's not in six screaming hues with an animal lurching toward us.

Marsai Martin in Viktor & Rolf

TER and her two on-screen daughters are all the same color-family slideshow. I wonder if they had a group text chain. (This is perfect for her.)

Stefani Robinson in J. Mendel

Stefani is a writer on Atlanta, and she NAILED IT. I would like the skirt to be tiered one more time, I think, but the bodice is so fun with it.

From one J. Mendel to another. She looks lovely.

Vanessa Kirby in Tom Ford

On TV, this looked pale pink rather than beige, so that's what I'm sticking with; I wish she, however, had not stuck with it. Her cosmetics team did a great job making sure it didn't wash her out, but this is so drab. It feels like a revenge dress -- like someone said, "Oh, do anything you want, as long as she can wear a bra with it," and Tom was like, "UGH, fine, I'll give you a bra with it."

That's sort of fun, except for the agressively dead tiny birds that flew into her chest.
