Usually, this would be dull to me but we live in an uncertain time and it would be stressful if Jennifer Aniston showed up in like a pink ruffled scrunchie dress. ## Jennifer Aniston and Jimmy Kimmel ![2020 Emmy Awards Presenters](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/09/10783663a-1600663442.jpg) Editorial use only. HANDOUT /NO SALES Mandatory Credit: Photo by EMMY AWARDS/HANDOUT/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock (10783663a) A handout photo made available by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences shows Jennifer Aniston (L) and Jimmy Kimmel (R) sanitizing the winner's envelope while presenting the award for outstanding lead actress in a comedy series during the 72nd annual Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles, California, USA, 20 September 2020\. The Primetime Emmys Awards 2020 is the first major Hollywood ceremony to attempt a live broadcast amid the COVID-19 pandemic. 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards, Los Angeles, USA - 20 Sep 2020 I must also confess that I find Aniston's competent, assured comedic skills to be the funny version of competence porn. She is not going to whiff this bit! Anyway, Jimmy also looks totally reasonable. ## Back at the Aniston Compound ![2020 Emmy Awards Presenters](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/09/shutterstock_editorial_10783650gd-1600663192-scaled.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Uncredited/Invision/AP/Shutterstock (10783650gd) Jason Bateman, left, Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox speak during the 72nd Emmy Awards telecast on at 8:00 PM EDT/5:00 PM PDT on ABC 72nd Emmy Awards - Show, Los Angeles, United States - 20 Sep 2020 Back at her house, Jen changed into frankly a very good robe for an amusing bit where she, Courteney Cox, and Lisa Kudrow pretended they were still roommates (although technically Phoebe never lived with them but whatever! Also does this mean Chandler and Monica have broken up? What does this bit mean for the Friends universe! Is Jason Bateman Monica's second husband? Actually, I can totally believe that). Additionally: Aniston has a great bookshelves, jeez! ## Jason Bateman ![2020 Emmy Awards Presenters](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/09/shutterstock_editorial_10783531ev-1600663104-scaled.jpg) Use by news and entertainment media for reporting about the Emmys only. Mandatory Credit/Byline: ABC Mandatory Credit: Photo by ABC/Shutterstock (10783531ev) Jason Bateman 72nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, Staples Center, Los Angeles, USA - 20 Sep 2020 Bateman also did a bit at the open with Kimmel where he pretended to be a cardboard cut-out because he's desperate for human interaction and I feel him! I like that they made a cut-out of Sandra Oh where she looks like she thinks everyone is an idiot. This is my favorite Sandra Oh! ## Tracee Ellis Ross in Alexander Vauthier ![2020 Emmy Awards Presenters](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/09/shutterstock_editorial_10783531ae-1600663062-scaled.jpg) Use by news and entertainment media for reporting about the Emmys only. Mandatory Credit/Byline: ABC Mandatory Credit: Photo by ABC/Shutterstock (10783531ae) Tracee Ellis Ross 72nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, Staples Center, Los Angeles, USA - 20 Sep 2020 This is delightful. It's so over the top and joyful. Thank you for bringing us this truly Awards Show Worthy look, TER! ## Cynthia Erivo in Versace ![2020 Emmy Awards Presenters](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/09/IMG_2409-1600662909-scaled.jpg) We just did not get a good shot of this outfit -- this pandemic has ALSO screwed up my workflow -- so this is, as you can tell, taken off my TV. I don't HATE this -- the pattern is neat -- but I think it's too short. ## Laverne Cox in Kim Kassas ![2020 Emmy Awards Presenters](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/09/shutterstock_editorial_10783650gw-1600663205-scaled.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Uncredited/Invision/AP/Shutterstock (10783650gw) Laverne Cox presents the Emmy for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series during the 72nd Emmy Awards telecast on at 8:00 PM EDT/5:00 PM PDT on ABC 72nd Emmy Awards - Show, Los Angeles, United States - 20 Sep 2020 Laverne also brought us a lot to talk about, which I appreciate! Her head, as usual, looks super, and from the waist up, this is great. ## Laverne Cox in Kim Kassas ![2020 Emmy Awards Presenters](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/09/IMG_2411-1600662948-scaled.jpg) "Oh, it's sheer!" I said aloud to my empty apartment. I need to get a dog so at least I can tell SOMEONE these things. ## Laverne Cox in Kim Kassas ![2020 Emmy Awards Presenters](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/09/IMG_2410-1600662929-scaled.jpg) "Is it pants?" I wondered. "It's pretty fun in motion." ## Laverne Cox in Kim Kassas Couture ![2020 Emmy Awards Presenters](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/09/Laverne-Cox-in-Kim-Kassas-Couture-1600662995.png) "IT IS PANTS." Thank you for coming with me on this journey; Laverne, thank you for coming up with a journey for us to take together. ## H.E.R in Vera Wang ![2020 Emmy Awards Presenters](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/09/shutterstock_editorial_10783531dj-1600663090-scaled.jpg) Use by news and entertainment media for reporting about the Emmys only. Mandatory Credit/Byline: ABC Mandatory Credit: Photo by ABC/Shutterstock (10783531dj) H.E.R. 72nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, Staples Center, Los Angeles, USA - 20 Sep 2020 H.E.R did the -- well, you can read it. She sang "Nothing Compares to U," and sounded fantastic. This color is great on her. ## H.E.R in Vera Wang ![2020 Emmy Awards Presenters](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/09/HER-in-Vera-Wang-1600662966.png) I was doing some research about this last night, and there was a very thoughtful (as of when I wrote this) conversation in the comments of H.E.R's Instagram about whether this look was based on the traditional Vietnamese ao dai, or the Chinese qipao. I believe it is the former, although Vera Wang is of course herself Chinese. (I also learned that H.E.R is half Filipino! It was a very interesting and thoughtful discussion.) I am sure a lot of thought went into this choice and I would love to read the process behind it -- I haven't found anything about it yet. ## Yara Shahidi in custom Prada ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/09/10783650hj-1600666623.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Uncredited/Invision/AP/Shutterstock (10783650hj) Yara Shahidi speaks on stage during the 72nd Emmy Awards telecast on at 8:00 PM EDT/5:00 PM PDT on ABC 72nd Emmy Awards - Show, Los Angeles, United States - 20 Sep 2020 It's sort of hard to tell in this snap, but the whole bodice of this is feathers. It was smart of them to pick a look that had most of its interest from the waist uo. ## Yara Shahidi in custom Prada ![2020 Emmy Awards Presenters](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/09/Yara-Shahidi-in-custom-Prada-1600662977.png) I just want to shout out my appreciation to people who posed for Instagram so we could get a real good look at their outfits. Out by the rocks! At magic hour! Let us appreciate you! ## Jason Sudeikis ![2020 Emmy Awards Presenters](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/09/shutterstock_editorial_10783531bx-1600663076-scaled.jpg) Use by news and entertainment media for reporting about the Emmys only. (Yes, I realize he wasn't IN Anchorman...but you believed me for a minute, didn't you?) ## Zendaya in Christopher John Rogers ![2020 Emmy Awards Presenters](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/09/shutterstock_editorial_10783531fo-1600663118-scaled.jpg) Use by news and entertainment media for reporting about the Emmys only.
