She looks great, and I would be REALLY ANNOYED about her losing for her role in The Americans except she just won an Emmy last year for being AMAZING on Justified, and don't even get me started about how The Americans was basically robbed in general, because in addition to Martindale being TREMENDOUS, Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys were both amazing and Noah Emmerich was also great and that show is SO GOOD so shut up Emmys I hate you.
I don't know why La Fonda is wearing one black glove, but I assume it's because that's the hand she's using to choke out and then discard her enemies as she runs across them throughout the party.
Rumor has it the aforementioned Jane Fonda recently wore this dress on an episode of The Newsroom which I don't watched because it makes my blood pressure spike. I hate to say it, Jessica -- I LOVE you and we're name twins! -- but Fonda might have worn it slightly better.
This is a wee bit Mother of the Bride for me. I hoped for a little more pizzazz from Alfre.
But this I sincerely love. I think she looks totally elegant and classy and beautiful. If you can't wear a totally elegant quasi-caftan to the Emmys when you're 80, and you're about to WIN THE HELL out of your category, then when on earth are you supposed to wear it? Also, her date was her granddaughter, and her speech was great. I think I love you, Ellen Burstyn.
