Ellen is England's top goal-scorer in history and has been a huge part of the team's improvements on the global stage. I'm so happy for her. She's 33, so she could keep going for another cycle, bow out after the World Cup, or... who knows, but she has to feel like her legacy is leaving the national club in an incredible place.

Jill is another football legend over there -- she got a big roar when she came in as a sub. Beth, on the left, won the Golden Boot and Player of the Tournament.

Ella came on as a second-half sub and scored on practically her first touch of the match, a beautiful lob over the diving keeper, and Alessia won the Bronze Boot. They EARNED their moment with fun sunnies. (Not that one ever really has to earn such a thing.)

Sarina coached The Netherlands to victory in Euro 2017, and took over England's team last year. Per Wikipedia, then, this means she is "the fourth manager to retain the Euros title, and the first – in either men's or women's – to win the Euros with two different countries."

"A cowboy hat? I mean, I GUESS. While we're here, can we talk about how the men's World Cup is in Qatar and that's why it's in the winter? What are these people even doing?"

UEFA Euro Tournament record attendance of 87.192
England v Germany, Womens UEFA European Championship, Final, Football, Wembley Stadium, London, UK - 31 Jul 2022
Look at that turnout! Alexis Ohanian has been saying he thinks women's soccer in the U.S. will outpace the men's game soon in popularity, which I hope is correct (he also has a vested interest, as I think he invested in/co-owns Angel City here in LA). Filling Wembley is amazing. One of the on-the-ground commentators was an ex-footballer for England and she was crying from joy and couldn't stop going on about how incredible the crowd energy was. It's wonderful. I really, really hope all that passion carries through.
