I feel personally victimized that Wills isn't wearing his reading glasses, but I'll get over it. (Charlotte also seems to be wondering if he can see properly without them.) Mostly, this photo is funny to me because Kate is like "HELLO EVERYONE! I HAVE A FRIEND NOW!!" and William is just full-on Aggressively Pleasant.

I mostly included this shot so you could see all the people looking at them as they drove in and out of the Palace; there is a huge scrum of the paparazzi and photographers on the other side of the car, obviously. I too would be slightly stressed about piloting my vehicle through them, Wills. I FEEL YOU.

ETA: It has been brought to my attention that Princess Michael is wearing what is referred to decorative art terms as "a blackamoor" pin. (I have no idea how I missed this when I wrote this post; I have to confess that I was thinking about her eyepatch collection, and I didn't look at her outfit that closely.) That seems, at best, a PROFOUNDLY ILL-ADVISED MOVE to pull at an event where you will be dining with, and possibly meeting for the first time, the newest member of your family who is also a woman of color. (Personally, I feel this pin should be retired from her collection permanently, regardless of whom she is meeting, but deploying it at this event feels particularily pointed.)
Princess Michael has said some BONKERS STUFF about race in the past, and I suspect, judging from those statements, that she may think this is humorous or cheeky in some way, but...it's really REALLY not, and I hope several members of this family rip a strip off her for it. (I cannot believe her daughter let her leave the house like this but Princess Michael doesn't seem like a person who listens to other people's advice.)
