This color is amazing on her. I sort of wonder if the draping at the neckline is as flattering as it could be? (When she got out of the limo, I swear to god that Ross Mathews squeaked, "SHE'S SERVING BUST!!!" which made me laugh.) Overall, though, she looks lovely in this.

Lola Kirke in Andrew Gn

I love this dress. It's such a pretty pretty princess dress, and she looks pretty pretty in it. (The "princess" bit was undercut by the fact that apparently she's wearing a pin that reads "f$&k Paul Ryan." Although it's entirely possible that various princesses also dislike Paul Ryan; I don't know their lives.)

She looks great in this -- it's lovely -- but I wish it had either two sleeves or zero sleeves.

Somehow we almost forgot her entirely, despite the fact that her win was the biggest gasp of the night. (Not because anyone didn't think she was good in Elle, but just because everyone thought it was Portman's to lose. The HFPA REALLY cleaved to the "foreign" part of its title this year. Not that it picked undeserving stuff; just in a way that is going to make me rethink my certainties next year.) ANYWAY. Isabelle looks wonderful, but I would've liked the shirt to be fully beaded rather than petering out around her belly button.

Gal Gadot

I totally forgot she is pregnant (did we know?) and also briefly forgot she attended at all. She looks very nice. I kinda wish Portman would bust out a sexy evening gown. She seems only to want caftans. (Which, look, I've been there. I feel that.)

Olivia Culpo in Zuhair Murad

Olivia -- an ex-Miss USA, I think, who dated a Jonas or whatever because that's what people seem to do when they're starting out -- was this year's Sarah Hyland, a.k.a. The One Who Arrived Super Early and Got As Much Publicity Out Of The Red Carpet As Humanly Possible. (This was Olivia Wilde for one season, back in the day, so we're full circle on Olivias here I guess.) She certainly picked a dress people could not possibly ignore. I actually really like it. The front looks like it should be the back, but she's pulling it all of really well even with the occasional hint of underboob. The pattern makes me want to go to Italy and buy pottery and drink wine.

Aly Raisman, Simone Biles, and Madison Kocian

I don't know where the other two of the Five are, but these three represented beautifully, although the fit on Aly's bodice could be a WEE better.

Trace Lysette in Charbel Zoe

This is very dramatic. I love the color. I don't think I love the overall dress? It feels very inspired by this red Diane Kruger number from last year. Diane's was more naked but arguably also more beautiful in its workmanship? But it also had thigh fringe, so. There IS something hypnotic about this.
