It's August, which means that hardly any of the royals are currently willing to leave the house -- [although Kate went to church with the rest of the royals on Sunday, in an outing for which I could not get the pics, such as they were](https://whatkatewore.com/2017/08/20/kate-in-familiar-pieces-for-church-at-balmoral/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). This downtime, however, is the best time for Kate Watchers to take stock of what she's done so far this year, and attempt to answer the perennial question: Are we on a more fashion-forward trend?

Seeing all of her looks in one fell swoop illuminated a few things for me: (a) I think the answer above is a qualified yes (please note, I mean *more* fashion-forward, not fashion-foreward, full stop), (b) we're definitely seeing more patterns this year than previous ones, and (c) oh my god she loves Alexander McQueen so much.
