Okay, to set the scene. Per our photo service: "HRH will be undertaking engagements on behalf of charities with which the Prince is closely associated...with a central theme of supporting injured service personnel from the UK and US forces." Which is why he is learning about these devices to discover landmines. I must admit, when I saw this photo in thumbnail form, I thought they were teaching him about curling. Which is maybe not QUITE as important, but it IS fun. I guess curling doesn't save quite as many lives, other than those who are insomniacs during the Winter Olympics.
He wore a suit and tie to hang out with John McCain; presumably they were discussing veteran's and service personnel's affairs and NOT curling but again: we do not know their lives.
He gazed wistfully at a portrait of George Washington and thought, "damn you, Washington. If it weren't for you pesky Revolutionary kids, this would all be mine. MINE!"
He applauded for himself when Michelle Obama introduced him as a surprise guests at an event honoring military families. "It's true, I AM here. I promised everyone I was going to keep my pants on this time. And I DEFINITELY probably will."
He gave a speech during a dinner at the British Ambassador's residence without realizing that he was standing directly in front of curtain whose fringes gave him rabbit ears to end all rabbit ears. And yes, I know a curtain isn't REALLY a "who," but it certainly is a jokester.
He laid a wreath at the JFK Memorial at Arlington, wearing one of his fanciest military get-ups.
He attended the Opening Ceremony of the Warrior Games and made Missy Franklin's weekend. I might be 'shipping them now. This past summer, I decided she was in love with Michael Phelps, so I think it's possible that I always just want Missy Franklin to be dating someone awesome.
He helped light the torch and thought to himself, "it's a real stroke of luck that my beret matches my eyes so nicely."
No, seriously. This is the best weekend of Missy Franklin's life. (I love you, Missy. There's a standing invitation for you to come over and eat lemon bars and drink beer at my house, and then beat us all in the pool when we get drunk and swear we could outswim you. Just wait for me to get a pool.)
He sat around in his camo and beret -- as you do -- and laughed.
He enthusiastically clapped for things.
He considered moving.
He and Misty May-Treanor played sitting volleyball with the UK team.
Jet-lagged and tired, he started hitting on silk plants.
He tried to throw a football. Maybe don't quit your day job, doll.
He also was the bottom of an Air Force Academy cheer-leading pyramid. That's more like it. That's also, potentially, how SHENANIGANS begin, so stay tuned. I think we've all seen this movie, and it ends up with a juicy story in US Weekly.
