Qatar is one of many Middle East countries luring star power for fancy parties and festivals, most of which I assume are to paper over any discussion of human rights abuses. It's interesting to see who's buying into it, or being bought into it as the case may be, especially after [the brouhaha about comics accepting money to play in Saudi Arabia](https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2025/oct/09/riyadh-comedy-festival-saudi-arabia-comedians?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). Lindsay Lohan lives in Dubai, so I'm not surprised she's there... actually, I'm honestly not surprised *any* of them are there.
