A lot of the clothes are similar to the kits they wore at the U.S. Open, which I suspect is because the tournaments are so close together. Usually, you have the Aussie, then the French almost six months later, then Wimbledon where the rules are different, which means about three months between the French and the U.S. -- so either our memories get short, or they get fresh clothes. Anyway, Simona clearly just grabbed some black leggings and was like, "Whatever, I just need to be warm." It seems crazy that these companies wouldn't make them matching leggings, even just as a hit-around option on off days.

Sports photographs really do always demonstrate that the ways the human body can move are AMAZING. The angle on her arm... and she's about to RIP that racket to the ball.

Azarenka almost looks like she's wearing a unitard under her outfit. I like the kicky jacket.

I wonder if this is thrown together piecemeal? The blue and the light teal don't really gel.

We have a lot of cute pinks this year, but seriously, this is another one where you think, "Make sports leggings part of their packages!" It can't HURT.

See? Kiki's people know. She is coordinated.

Her classic black with just a little white piping works very effectively here. And also makes the leggings match.

I like to imagine they all just ran out and bought the same pair of leggings at... whatever the French equivalent of Dick's Sporting Goods is. I like Coco's wrist sweatbands.

Serena looks like she's wearing a tutu in this photo. The hit of colors in the shoes is nice. I wonder if this is not even an official Serena Tennis Outfit so much as her attempt to stay warm.

Venus looks like she's baby-wearing while playing.

I am HERE for this, though. Jazzy leggings that also match! Let's get on board here, tennis clothiers.

"Cold? Me? I'M CANADIAN."

This has a weird babydoll dress aura to it.

"Nice try baby but I'm going to hit this!"

Once again, Sir Andy has a nice shirt.

This kit made an appearance in the US Open, also. I like it, but the Miami Dolphins colors seem to have been strangely popular this year...

... as this is a version of them, too. Those shoes are snazzy.

Jannik here looks ready for a pina colada on the lanai when this is over.

This is simple but super cute.

This is also a style we saw already. I appreciate the splashy pattern work.

A break for the fans. That mustache mask is hilarious.

"I'm just going to pretend I'm at Wimbledon."

"I need a more exciting sponsor."

Every time I saw him in a gallery, I thought he was wearing a big mask. Nope. Just a beard.

Sofia! The ball! Look up!

I approve.

This is very sunny and froofy and feels like she was playing on an entirely different climate (maybe she was -- I know it rained, but not the whole time). She also looks like if Jen Lindley from Dawson's Creek had been a tennis star.

The back is really what I like about this one.

I like the fuchsia, and her quads make me want to go on a run like RIGHT NOW.

I object to the dueling pinks here. The shoes are too peachy.

This photo makes him look like If Younger Mandy Patinkin Played Tennis (he does not generally look like Mandy at all though). I like the shirt.

Steelers colors!

Can't say I'm sorry he lost, particularly. This version of his short also looks like a child's chalk outline of an airplane.

It looks a bit better in the photo-negative.

"Well, here goes nothing."

I quite liked Rafa's blue and hot pink outfits, but it bugs me that I don't think the headband matches the wrists. It looks more orange. Lighting?

I AM happy for him that this happened, though. Twenty Grand Slams, tying my beloved Roger, and 13 of them at the French Open. His career record there is 100-2. Amazing.

Iga was a surprise winner ont he women's side, and while her outfit here is very Wimbledon-boring....

... look how GREAT this is!

What a piano picture. I hope someone gives her a copy.
