From Elton to Vanity Fair

Heidi Klum in Zuhair Murad

This is... she looks like a sea creature. EVERYONE seemingly will be carrying duvets this... well, FALL, I hope, I cannot do that in summer in LA. Anyway, if this is her peaceful aquatic phase...

Heidi Klum

... then THIS is her preparing to sting an undersea predator. I HOWLED. Heidi, bless your heart.

Hilary Duff

This is very bright and fun, so of course she traded it in...

Hilary Duff and Matthew Koma

... for something peach and mediocre. Also, it's tough to go from the greased-up hair to a regular coif without it looking like she just hasn't showered.

Thuso Mbedu

I enjoy the pattern -- which looks like computer chip circuitry -- more than the cut.

Thuso Mbedu

I almost put this in the nakeds/sheers post, but then I decided the skirt was prominent enough. It all actually works surprisingly well? Better than it should, and better than you'd imagine if I described it to you.

Dramatic! I like the vaguely Cruella black/white, angel/creeping demon feel. Does that sentence even make sense? Whatever. Is it still Sunday?

I love this so much. I never want it to stop.

Fortunately, I suspect neither did she.

Maggie Lawson

This is for all you Psych lovers out there. As usual, I had to stop a minute and make sure she wasn't Alicia Silverstone.

That is sooo good.

Lucien Laviscount

Lucien went bare-chested for Elton...

... and bare-SHOULDERED for Vanity Fair. I laughed at this one, too. He looks a bit like he has a young niece who asked to style him.

Imaan Hammam

She went full tangerine glee...

... and then buttoned it all up.

Zooey Deschanel

This is pretty enough -- sort of forgettable but functional.

But THIS. This is the most artistic and fun thing I think I've ever seen on her,

Dove Cameron in Monot

It's nice to see her in a color that isn't so dark -- she's gone HARD at the Goth feel lately. That's also the most... regular... thing I've ever seen out of Monot.

This is an elegant take on that. I think both of these are a win for her, honestly.

Simona Tabasco

That looks like someone pranked her with a ribbon.

Simona Tabasco

Better. I think?

Michaela Jae Rodriguez

This looks like she's wrapped in that spun stretched taffy.

And here, trapped in a cat's cradle.

Maggie Rogers

Wow, a sailor-esque outfit. I can HEAR Bert Healy telling her she's never fully dressed without a smile.

Maggie Rogers

Sure! That DOES feel more like a party.

Sabrina Impacciatore

She also could have been in the sheers, but there is so much else going on -- the heavy bangs, the giant sleeves -- that I let it go. I also showed these out of order, because as weird as this one is, the Elton outfit is the real mic drop. Get ready.

Sabrina Impacciatore

HOLY ARMPIT GARDEN.
