Yes, this post was inspired by the fact that [J.Crew's tartan holiday shoes are finally here](https://rstyle.me/+v7F8LVYNSUOvUc7tG0lbFw?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) \-- they WILL sell out, if past years are any indication -- and by the related fact that [J.Crew is selling a truly sociopathic amount of plaid items](https://rstyle.me/+Qyf1U5ZyRsWyJ1WRVFXuFw?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), all of which I want for myself. (I also just spent a [lot of time talking myself out of buying a plaid duvet cover.](https://rstyle.me/+DF-LcrQUHplC5ePrFUCqTA?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) It's not like I get to leave my home! It seems so cheerful! Someone enable/stop me!) Someone should write an explainer about why plaid feels like a Holiday Fabric, but until they do, I'm just going to *announce* that plaid is a Holiday Fabric and bring you this widget o' good cheer:
