If this doesn't win best-dressed, it certainly might be a Most Improved.
A big, big yes from me.
She's good at picking interesting stuff that's still elegant.
This gets points for being restrained on a person who doesn't typically know what that means.
Her hair is SO GOOD and so is her taste level here. Sophisticated, not weird.
Awful HOW DOES SHE LIVE WITH HERSELF.
FINALLY.
Per usual she's having the best time and looking super sparkling and HER FACE.
I find this hard to be mad at -- it won't win, and it's not even her personal best, but it's SUPER romantic and it fits and it flatters and the color is wonderful with her eyes.
So much poise. It almost makes me want to see the movie but I can't do it. Team Albert Finney. (Not that he has come out against it; I just don't know that I want to see a half-baked lyrically mangled update when I can watch Finney and Edward Hermann and CAROL BURNETT YOU GUYS.)
I loved this on her, head to toe.
Reese said on her Instagram that it took 80 hours of work to make this dress. (Her Instagram, @reesewitherspoon, is great by the way, as is this gown.)
It even has pockets!
Well, if Kate Middleton isn't going to wear it... seriously, this was wonderful on the Krugs, who often tends toward the nutty or overdone. It was nice to see how she can stun in simplicity as well.
I flat-out loved this, even with the feathers. They gave it extra spark.
Fug Nation was furious at me for disliking this. My objection was with the dumb rosette/cape, not the rest of it, but I do agree that if anyone is going to give it panache it's Emma. And so, for the lovers out there, HERE YOU GO.
This lovely look got loads of love from Fug Nation. We agree she was graceful and dignified and striking in it.
A glam homerun from Jessica Chastain.
She is continuing her streak of excellence from last year's Globes (which lasted through the whole season).
I kind of want to put Naomi's head and necklace on this body, to make the perfect ensemble. Because I THINK this actual dress is my favorite -- and the purse -- but the snake necklace wins everything forever.
When this came down the runway I was like, 'High degree of difficulty; needs the right wearer.' SUCCESS.
Is she becoming America's favorite celebrity almost-spouse?
She picked a great night to wear something so delicate and pretty.
I couldn't find a credit for this, and then I went AHA and checked her Instagram. THANK YOU, Instagram. This is just so neat.
The color is PERFECT.
Amy killed it in this, especially -- sorry, Tina -- next to the other gown in this photo.
But then Tina pulled out the tux, so she snuck in here, too. Well played, milady.
