Her last two gowns have been tailored to perfection. Not tailored to perfection: Ricky Gervais's tacky jokes about transgender people/characters, including a whole bit about tucking (the gist of which seemed to be, "WTF, CRAZY, HOW DOES IT WORK!???!?!?"). I know Ricky is always about ten years in the past at these things, and there are times when I laugh with him, but... not here. Dude, get with the times. Fast.

This gown is a dream.

This is one of my favorite things she's EVER worn, and everything she did with it is perfect. That HAIR. I would put that on my head right now if she'd let me.

Her head-styling veers too sharply into Society Matron for me, but she's making a VERY tricky cut work for her -- and it's FINALLY a Dior at a major awards show that doesn't make her look a fool, so there's that.

Do you think Kate Hudson looked at this and thought, "Did I PASS ON THAT? WHAT WAS I THINKING?"

She has everything PERFECTLY wrangled in that bodice, and I think all the other aspects to it make the neckline funky rather than excessive. Bonus points for picking a designer that isn't very buzzy right now, but probably will be hereafter.

I know she's not a celebrity over here, but I had to include this dress. It's a great color and I think she looks fantastic in it -- and really, aren't those the only qualifications?

Someday she will look back and think, "WHY didn't I let him dress me for the Oscars?"

One of the best Zacs of late, Boob Cones notwithstanding.

Stunning.

And, frankly, also really good, because you feel like you're seeing something of Stefani rather than EVERY LAST BIT of Gaga.
