Well, part of the year. - Author: Heather - Tags: fugs, #wp, #wp-post, #hasslideshow, #Import 2026-10-07 08:15 [View the gallery](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/2020-good-and-bad/) Even with a pandemic, we managed a pretty jam-packed year at GFY, and we are endlessly grateful that you stuck with us through it all. We slung whatever we could think of at you, to distract from armageddon, including in fact [a whole post about the premiere of *Armageddon*](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/i-implore-you-to-join-me-for-a-look-back-at-the-premiere-of-armageddon-04-2020/). That, along with the below, ranked among your most-viewed of the year -- but if you have a favorite that wasn't listed here, please do post it in the comments, and we'll try to pop in and add the link. As for the above, well, those are some of the worst and best bits and pieces from non-awards shows. At the bottom of this post, I put in links to the various awards show coverages we did, most of which have robust Best and Worst slideshows of their own. Beyond that: 1. We looked back at a couple AMAZING MUSIC VIDEOS which you should watch IMMEDIATELY, and they are: "[Total Eclipse of the Heart](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/classic-music-videos-bonnie-tylers-total-eclipse-of-the-heart-is-batshit-08-2020/)," "[Does He Love You](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/drop-what-youre-doing-and-embrace-the-best-music-video-of-all-08-2020/)," and "[It's All Coming Back To Me Now](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/your-morning-earworm-its-all-coming-back-to-me-now-07-2020/)," by Celine AND THEN by Meat Loaf. Oh, and "[Careless Whisper](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/classic-music-video-careless-whisper-dares-to-ask-the-question-can-a-rope-be-sultry-08-2020/)." 2. Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas sucked up a lot of our collective oxygen this year, from [the beginning of their pandemic sashays](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/ben-affleck-and-ana-de-armas-really-want-you-to-know-they-are-banging-right-now-03-2020/) to [the one where people got kind of mad at us for side-eyeing their behavior](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/if-i-were-jennifer-garner-id-be-leaving-ben-affleck-steamed-voice-mails-right-now-03-2020/) and [well beyond](https://www.gofugyourself.com/celebs/ana-de-armas?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) (that link takes you to Ana's archive, which covers in reverse chronological order all the most recent times they hung out publicly). 3. We remembered [Princess Diana's big fashion moment at Cannes](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/one-of-princess-dianas-big-fashion-moments-was-at-cannes-05-2020/). 4. Of all the premieres we revisited, [you clicked on the *Cruel Intentions* one the most](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/time-to-revisit-the-premiere-of-cruel-intentions-04-2020/). 5. After that, surprisingly, it was [the Twister premiere](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/the-earth-seems-real-mad-at-us-so-why-not-revisit-the-twister-premiere-05-2020/). 6. We reminisced about the trap of [ultra-ultra-low-rise pants](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/ultra-ultra-low-rise-waists-a-cautionary-tale-04-2020/). 7. RED ALERT. [Kim Kardashian Karried Bag Again](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/holy-demonic-handbasket-kim-karried-bag-again-03-2020/). 8. The Royal Wedding Rewinds have been a lot of fun, but we really REALLY enjoyed[ the rock royalty unions of Duran Duran](https://www.gofugyourself.com/lets-revisit-the-various-weddings-of-duran-duran-09-2020?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) and [the sheer spectacle of Queen Celine of Canada's ceremonies with Rene Angelil](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/royal-wedding-rewind-celine-dion-04-2020/). 9. Once upon a time, [Brad and Jen AND Angelina had to go to Cannes right in the middle of all the rumors about *Mr. and Mrs. Smith*](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/brad-jen-and-angelina-all-ended-up-at-cannes-in-the-midst-of-the-firestorm-05-2020/). Oof. 10. Iceberg ahead: [It's the *Titanic* premiere](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/iceberg-ahead-its-the-premiere-of-titanic-07-2020/). Believe it or not, we DID have major big awards shows. Before Covid, we had the [Golden Globes](https://www.gofugyourself.com/tag/2020-golden-globes?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), the [Critics' Choice](https://www.gofugyourself.com/tag/2020-critics-choice-awards?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), the [SAGs](https://www.gofugyourself.com/tag/2020-SAGs?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), the [Grammys](https://www.gofugyourself.com/tag/2020-grammys?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), the [BAFTAs](https://www.gofugyourself.com/tag/2020-baftas?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), the [Independent Spirits](https://www.gofugyourself.com/tag/independent-spirit-awards?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), a [truly bananas Paltrow outfit](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/gwyneth-goes-full-golden-girls-at-the-wga-awards-02-2020/) at the WGAs, [the NAACP Awards](https://www.gofugyourself.com/tag/naacp-image-awards?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), and the [Oscars](https://www.gofugyourself.com/tag/2020-oscars?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). Afterward, we got the [Emmys](https://www.gofugyourself.com/tag/2020-emmys?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), the [VMAs](https://www.gofugyourself.com/tag/2020-VMAs?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), the [BET Awards](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/highlights-from-the-bet-awards-tk-06-2020/), [Billboard Music Awards](https://www.gofugyourself.com/tag/billboard-music-awards?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), the [American Music Awards](https://www.gofugyourself.com/tag/american-music-awards?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), the [CMAs](https://www.gofugyourself.com/tag/cma-awards?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), the [Soul Train Awards](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/the-soul-train-awards-happened-over-the-weekend-12-2020/), with varying degrees of pageantry (and advisability).
