She's basically in costume as Glinda and was also speaking....Glinda-y and while my main argument here is that this dress is HUGE and wearing her,and she looks like she's dragging around a duvet, my OTHER argument is that using the Oscars to promote your upcoming film THIS hardcore doesn't sit well with me. Like, yes, present with your co-star, but do you need to come in costume? (I'm less irked with Cynthia because I felt like that look at least worked on her.) This Wicked promo tour is gonna be annoying, I suspect.

She and her team absolutely knew people were going Have Reactions to the Undies here; I actually think the rest of this dress is gorgeous and I actually don't REALLY mind the weird stand-up straps but as a whole, I simply cannot sign off on this for the Academy Awards. I'm sure she's devastated!

This isn't, like, ACTIVELY BAD but the unfinished bits/weird neck aren't great? I dunno! This Oscars was otherwise VERY middle-of-the-road, clothing-wise.

God bless! I mean, is this the worst thing LV has ever given her? It is not. However! It IS the only thing LV's given her that has literally fallen apart on her body and you gotta deduct a lot of points for that. They did have one essential job and that was Making Sure Emma Stone Had Functional Clothes.

I say this with love, because I think she's the greatest, but Christian himself said on the pre-show that this look was "not for everyone," and it is not for me. ESPECIALLY when you compare it to

Yes, it's pants. This was NOT A POPULAR LOOK with Fug Nation, nor with the internet at large. (I secretly don't hate it?)

These two just honestly look...a mess, right? This is not cohesive. Matthew looks like he put on the wrong pair of pants and Camila just looks like...a lot. I feel like these two show up at a party at the beginning of a movie, and you're immediately like, "oh, con artists."
