## Amy Adams

Really? A black carpet? Are you guys THAT AFRAID people will think about Christopher Reeve's old red boots and stretchy suit? Anyway, this dress might have played better against a less matchy environment, but that's hardly Amy's fault, since she didn't throw the party. The dress appears to be very pretty and immaculately fit to her body, so well done there. The particular red of her lipstick feels a touch too daytimey, but that is the lamest nit to pick. Overall it's very Amy Adams: perfectly nice, but going to keep me up at night wanting to talk about it.

Aha, you can see it more clearly in this photo -- I picked it to show off the sides, but just realized the lighting is ALSO better. I like the bodice, don't love the sides, and want her red hair. Let's just stop pretending that I'm thinking about anything else. It looks like she had the color spiced up a little, and it really works. I have color envy. And budget envy, because spicing up your red and then maintaining it takes a LOT OF FREAKING WORK AND CASH. Hence Lohan and Kidman and Stone sticking with blonde a lot of the time, methinks.

As a bonus, here are these two at the Spike TV Guys' Choice Awards. Henry Cavill looks like Tall Matt Bomer to me in all the Superman previews, but not so much in this photo. He looks like one of those guys where you'll say, "I've seen him before," and someone will correctly identify where it was, but you'll reply, "No, no, that wasn't it, it was definitely something else," and name about 50 other wrong things and wrong people he might be.

I love the color of Amy's dress, but is it too aggressively corseted? Maybe she's just standing strangely, but the way the dress is bending is throwing me off.

Love the braided texture of it in close-up, though. NOT wild about her manicure. But she has that hair, so she shouldn't get to have EVERYTHING ELSE, too.

[Fug or Fab: Amy AdamsThis movie feels like it's going out of its way to be aggressively Deep and Dark and Not At All Silly Or Anything because of how badly the last reboot of the franchise went (although, in my opinion nobody chalked enough of that up to miscasting Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane)(which reminds me of one of my favorite Hollywood stories: I saw Superman Returns opening night at the Chinese, and the director Bryan Singer was there, standing along the back wall with a bunch of executive types. Right after the first major action sequence ended, one of the suits shouted, "YOU'VE DONE IT AGAIN, BRYAN SINGER," and clapped wildly, and then about ten minutes later the movie had clearly started losing the audience and so they slowly slunk out. It was amazing). Anyway: It's almost as if they are so allergic to lightness of spirit (you don't hire Christopher Nolan to produce if if you don't want it to be tonally kin to his Batman flicks, which means a dramatic logo and of course a black carpet instead of red) that they want to get away from the whole Superman aspect of Superman. The only clip I've seen is the one of Amy Adams' Lois questioning Henry Cavill, and the way she randomly suggests that the S on his chest could stand for Superman DOES play as silly because it's like they're trying to shoehorn that concept in, and every synopsis or interview I've read feels like, "Let's not even get that attached to him being called Superman, okay, because HE doesn't call himself that or anything and it's not what the S stands for on his suit, so let's just focus on the 'man' part of things, okay? Cool. Also, no Kryptonite, sorry." So. WE SHALL SEE. Wait, is this supposed to be about Amy Adams? Shoot. Okay, let's do that. \[poll id="10631"\] \[Photos: Getty\]![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/wenn20427983.xml)](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/fug-or-fab-amy-adams-6-06-2013/)
