Really? A black carpet? Are you guys THAT AFRAID people will think about Christopher Reeve's old red boots and stretchy suit? Anyway, this dress might have played better against a less matchy environment, but that's hardly Amy's fault, since she didn't throw the party. The dress appears to be very pretty and immaculately fit to her body, so well done there. The particular red of her lipstick feels a touch too daytimey, but that is the lamest nit to pick. Overall it's very Amy Adams: perfectly nice, but going to keep me up at night wanting to talk about it.
Aha, you can see it more clearly in this photo -- I picked it to show off the sides, but just realized the lighting is ALSO better. I like the bodice, don't love the sides, and want her red hair. Let's just stop pretending that I'm thinking about anything else. It looks like she had the color spiced up a little, and it really works. I have color envy. And budget envy, because spicing up your red and then maintaining it takes a LOT OF FREAKING WORK AND CASH. Hence Lohan and Kidman and Stone sticking with blonde a lot of the time, methinks.
As a bonus, here are these two at the Spike TV Guys' Choice Awards. Henry Cavill looks like Tall Matt Bomer to me in all the Superman previews, but not so much in this photo. He looks like one of those guys where you'll say, "I've seen him before," and someone will correctly identify where it was, but you'll reply, "No, no, that wasn't it, it was definitely something else," and name about 50 other wrong things and wrong people he might be.
I love the color of Amy's dress, but is it too aggressively corseted? Maybe she's just standing strangely, but the way the dress is bending is throwing me off.
Love the braided texture of it in close-up, though. NOT wild about her manicure. But she has that hair, so she shouldn't get to have EVERYTHING ELSE, too.
