This feels a bit like Galadriel by way of Star Trek, or some kind of alien cult -- like whatever the equivalent of Scientology is on Neptune. It also fits her very oddly. Cate Blanchett isn't someone I associate with poor fit, so that's surprising.

Cool idea, but also methinks not terribly flattering. It makes me sad.

In her favor: This angle shows the top is intended to be more blouson than I realized from the first shot, so it's not just oddly baggy (although I'm not sure it's attractively executed). However, what seals the deal for me -- frosts the urinal cake, as it were -- are the plastic see-through shoes. You know how I feel about these. They look like cast-off toy packaging. I can't. CATE. Your eyes of power have failed. I'm going to go drink a Diet Coke, eat a peanut butter sandwich, and vote "fug" on the ensemble.

While I am confident someone as groovy as Cate Blanchett would NEVER try and convince me of the latter two evils, I also know that would never work on me.
