Jena Malone in Reem Acra

Yes, it's sort of sheer. I know. But to be honest with you, while I will never get on board with the sheers, I am over complaining about them for today at least. I am out of words for them. They, too, shall pass -- like Uggs on the red carpet before them, and for today, I am choosing to just pretend this particular sheer, which isn't (to my mind) egregious, just isn't even happening.

In general, I think this entire thing is pleasantly fanciful. It's not like REAL CLOTHES, exactly, but it works for this event, for me, because it's pretty and tactile and sort of weird in that over-the-top Hunger Games way.

I will note that I wish the bodice was more of an actual bodice and not two strips of fabric taped to her waist. I will always have SOME notes.

Fug or Fab: Jena Malone in Reem Acra
This was a matter of discussion at GFY HQ today: I quite liked it (mostly), Heather was not as into it as I was. We did agree that Jena Malone is to be commended for always TRYING STUFF, and that Elizabeth Banks is surely pushing the Mockingjay ladies to new heights...well, the ladies who aren't tethered to Dior for life. LET'S TALK IT OUT. Also, for reference, I thought this shot from the red carpet was good at illustrating the cool effect of the skirt's fabric: .@MaloneJena dazzles on the red carpet! #MockingjayBerlinWorldPremiere pic.twitter.com/fKr6KKG6Ii — Mockingjay - Part 2 (@TheHungerGames) November 4, 2015 [Photos: Getty]
