I keep thinking I can see the bronzer line on her forehead, and then realizing it might just be stray wisps of hair. I ALSO get distracted by the darts in the nip region. But from the front at least, I like the conceit of the gown, and applaud her for having the stones to try neon yellow. That's advanced color science. If I did it, I'd look like I was dying.

But what ho: OUCH. Whatever is happening across her shoulder blade looks terribly uncomfortable, like a misplaced garroting. I know something has to hold this sucker in place, but it's digging into the flesh of a girl that barely even has much flesh there for the digging. Let's swoop in for a closer look at the culprit.

And thus, we solve the case: It's the top of the illusion netting. For me, this ruins it. Not the netting itself, per se, but the fact that the dress couldn't hold itself up without drawing a severe line across what should've been a sexy silhouette of her back. Somehow there needed to be a better solution here. CLOTHE her, don't carve her.

I also can't with the hair. It looks messy in almost every photograph. But props to her (or her team) for picking the right shade of red lipstick for that psychedelic dress. You know, if she'd worn her hair down, we might not have even SEEN the crazy slice into her shoulder blade... then again, maybe we'd be all, "Snore, Hough wore her hair down again," so maybe that's not right either. What would y'all have done? You're wise. Solve it.

Whereas this, from the UK premiere, is a totally different direction. It's like an LBD for career milkmaids. I just.... while it's also not as offensive as I would expect a dress that inspired that sentence to be, I still can't love it, or really like-like it, or even want to hold hands with it on the playground during recess.
