According to Lainey, [Kate's wearing the straps on this gown differently than the runway model did](https://www.laineygossip.com/Articles/Details/24475/Kate-Hudson-and-Matt-Bellamy-open-Venice-Film-Festival?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), and while I generally think that kind of tomfoolery tends to end in tears, I kind of like it here. It makes the dress look more special.

I am a bit less convinced by the way the dress is constructed to show so much skin. I thought those "runs," like you'd get in hose, were just beading changes, but no -- the dress is open to the skin, in a lot of dangerous places. I DO think this color work on her, though, which is surprising given how over neutrals I am (VERY OVER).
