Okay, so. I obviously LOVE the sparkle. Like, she was on a red carpet with a freaking gold-plated droid, and she still was unafraid to bring the shimmer and shine. And she won. She beat a robot at its own game.
HOWEVER. I'd be lying if I said I loved the big ribbon cummerbund. When I first saw this, I thought maybe the cutouts were framed by fabric sewn INTO the dress somehow, rather than just added over it. Observe...

I just don't love how that looks. I really don't. Maybe JUST the waist one would have been okay, but not the others? Something about how the one up top (and presumably also the one below) just sprouts there... It's not the droid for which I am looking, basically.

Here is the full back view for you, before we go close-up. I think... it is possibly also the type of thing where the black satin bits MIGHT have bothered me less in person, where you're seeing the whole thing in continuous motion, and it all flows together and has context together, rather than just "here is the front" and "here is the back."

But again, I'd be lying if I said that up close, I thought this was super smooth. It's not, for me. The sleeves just barely covering and needing the spaghetti straps, and the bra closure... isn't my favorite.

There is something magnificent to be said for wearing a dress that is SO undeniably sparkly, the reflections dance across your face.

This face game is majorly on point, though. In this photo, I don't even care WHAT comes after it stops. This is divine.
