Lupita Nyong'o in Fausto Puglisi

Well, it's certainly on-theme for the Maui Film Festival, but really, it's more of a beautiful lining for an envelope than a dress. Not least because it doesn't have much CONVICTION as a dress. It's a napkin with straps.

These colors are very nice on her, but there's almost TOO much randomness here, to where it looks like we caught the gown in the middle of a heat-triggered color change.

I DO like the stripe of orange. Neat touch: Her shoe insole matches the green in the dress but without the shoes themselves seeming overly matchy. Or at least, less so in this shot; in the one before, maybe a bit. Do we applaud the attention to detail, or want her to dial it back?
